Hundreds of children and adults attended My Home, Your Home’s outdoor talent show on Saturday, June 23, 2007 in the agency’s parking lot at 6200 W. Center St.
Several dozen singers, dancers, poets and musicians of all ages participated -- singly or in groups -- at the noncompetitive show. A notable aspect of the event was that My Home, Your Home, a faith-guided agency, required that the performance material “must be clean, not provocative.”
“Our event – called Pump up the Youth – is an annual outreach to the neighborhood, and we were thrilled with the community’s participation,” said Eileen Beard, who organized the event. She is the agency’s Trainer/Volunteer Program Manager.

Local organizations had informational displays at “Pump up the Youth.” They included the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department, the Milwaukee Fire Department, the Milwaukee Police Department, the Milwaukee Health Department and Word of Hope Ministries Health Center.
Beard thanked the donors who made the event possible, including Karim Babul of the neighboring Express Pantry convenience store, Debra Usinger of Usinger’s Famous Sausage, and A-1 Amusements and Vending.
